Iranian blockbuster ‘Just 6.5’ is slated to vie at the Jeonju International Film Festival in South Korea.

Iranian blockbuster ‘Just 6.5’ is slated to vie at the Jeonju International Film Festival in South Korea.

The movie directed by Saeed Roustaee is listed among the online screening lineup of the event.

‘Just 6.5’ is to represent Iran in Cinemafest category alongside five other films from UK, Germany and Japan.

The drama-thriller is the story of a veteran narcotics officer and his squad who search every corner of the capital as they hunt down the city’s largest drug kingpin and the complications involved in their mission.

Roustaee’s second feature film was awarded the Best Editing and Best Sound as well as the Audience Award at the 37th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

Internationally acclaimed actor Peyman Maadi is joined by Navid Mohammadzadeh, Amir Jadidi, Parinaz Izadyar, and Farhad Aslani in making up the film’s main cast.

Launched in 2000 as a non-competitive film festival that adopts partial competition, the JEONJU International Film Festival (JEONJU IFF) introduced independent and experimental films at the forefront to shine a spotlight on the alternative movements of contemporary film art.

JEONJU IFF discovers talents of promising filmmakers who could be the future leaders of filmmaking, endorse creative experiments and independent spirits, and provides the opportunity to meet and bond with international filmmakers.

The 2020 edition of the event was slated for May 28-June 6 and will have online screenings until September 20.
